Dr. Mehmke & Kollegen – Zahnarzt Chemnitz

„I visited the practice on November 11, 2025, as a new patient. While waiting for the dentist in the treatment room, everything seemed fine. He introduced himself and spoke incredibly fast, so quickly that I had trouble keeping up. He described the condition of my teeth and outlined what needed to be done. When I heard that a root canal cost €1200, I didn't think much of it at first. But when I received the bill for €600, I thought, "Great, how am I supposed to afford that without an income?" I left the room and thought about it, repeatedly checking the website. Nowhere did I find that I would have to pay all the costs myself! It's quite outrageous that they didn't mention anywhere that this was possibly a private dental practice! I've decided I'll never set foot in that place again.“

„I went to see a dentist for cosmetic dental work. Ultimately, Dr. Mehmke told me I needed a bite guard first. My gut feeling told me all along that they were simply trying to sell me treatments I didn't actually need. Since customers are "stupid" and, of course, lack sufficient knowledge (myself included), they try to rely on trust, lacking the ability to objectively assess the situation. During one of my subsequent appointments, I first emailed and then asked the second dentist if this treatment would actually help me achieve my goals – which they couldn't confirm. When I confronted Dr. Mehmke about this, he became rather annoyed. What was particularly brazen was that he only then presented me with a quote, which I was supposed to sign immediately. Moreover, it initially listed points that hadn't (yet) been addressed. The bite guard was promptly removed (but I still had to pay for it). So, in the end, I received two professional cleanings and had to pay over €900. Only come here if you have legal insurance, which I will now use (and be sure to document everything).“

"This isn't an emergency," "You should just take ibuprofen," "If we accepted everyone, we'd have to work the night shift," and I should see my family doctor on Monday. The level of audacity and arrogance is unparalleled. This was immediately reported to the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians.“
